The location is excellent and the staff were very pleasant. The buffet breakfast was also excellent.
We did not realise the trouble we would have getting from Bremen to Hamburg that particular afternoon. The traffic on this highway was the worst we have experienced and so it was very late when we arrived. We therefore we did not have the time to appreciate the hotel and location as we had to leave early that morning to meet up with people we missed the afternoon previously because of the traffic.
The location over the Habor
The Train below my Windows
The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The location was perfect. 5 minute walk from an s bahn and u bahn station, 5 minute walk from Reaper Street and right in the middle of quite a few of the sights in Hamburg. I would definitely stay here again!
The view from my window was of the parking lot, but the drapes were heavy enough that they didn't let any light through, so I still slept very well.
the magnificent view on harbour
I had booked a room in the old part of the hotel but got one in the new tower! which wasn't bad either. The parking is a bit of a mistery. Actually there is a park house almost attached to the hotel although they don't explain well since it does not belong to the hotel and they don't take responsibility, but it was a safe way of parking the car anyway for 14 Euros the day.
it was a great hotel with modern facilities in an excellent location - woudl highly recommend as it was recommended to me
Was an excellent hotel ideally placed for the train station (with direct links to the airport) and the docks area of Hamburg. We were there for a concert in the area and it was ideally placed for that as it was just a few minutes walk away
Nothing really. Hotel was very good, room and breakfast excellent
Location to the Lion King theater. Free Internet.
High park costs for car parking (any free park spaces are all gone during the weekend). The bed was too small for the price paid. No wireless Internet. In-room dining is too expensive - room charge for room service is around 10€. Cleaning is only when you request it.
En-suite shower. Beds comfortable after we requested additional pillows.
Our rooms were very hot, with the only means of controlling the temperature being to open the windows, however the rooms were adjacent to the U-Bahn line which made it very noisy. You either tried to sleep in the heat, or sleep through the noise. Admittedly the hotel provide each guest with ear plugs! While the hotel is close to the station, it is quite a climb up steps, unless you take a long diversion, and is therefore not suitable for the elderly or infirm, and this needs to be made clearer to guests.
We have been locatet at "Residence". The room was much to small. No place for people nor for luggage.
The location is very good and the hotel looks amazing from the port.the tower also is amazing with a great view we had. Drink there
Very bad sheets and blankets looks like nylon.there is no shower caps in z bathroom. There is only the shampoo.staff are okay but not great but what really disappointed me is the trap I fell in. We were told that we r staying in total harem hamburg and I was sooo excited it looked great form the outside and had an amazing view but it seems that the hotel has built a new part and if u r taking the captain room you will be settled there not I the real harem hamburg hotel.so be sure in which part you are settled it is not evident that you will stay in the old rustic hotel!
It is close to the port. The view must be great on the port side, though, my window looked to the street. The room (captain class) was niclely, pleaseantly furnished. There was an apple for promoting healthy lifestyle. I was excited when I booked it.
The bathroom was clean, big and simple. Very simple. Maybe on the level of a 2 stars hotel for one quart of that price I would accept. At this price and 4 star level it is simply not enough. It lacks (very much lacks) any style. It was just a simple bathroom with white cheap tiles from floor to ceiling. Further below standard solutions: The shaving mirror is just simply glued on the wall next to the door: no knicking arm, no light. There is one little, tiny hanger for all the towels. It is not enough for one person, not talking about two. No slipers, no bathrobe. The double bed was in fact twin bed. The apple was not eatable, so hard it was. Softly said, it was so unesthetic that it was put on surrealistic hanger on the wall. The room was ok, but I am disappoiinted by the above things.
location functional good breakfast good reception staff
noise from railway single lift in Tower blockf
Perfect location, 20min. Walk distance from smm . Breakfast with view on Elbe river and harbour.
S-Bahn and clima are noisy, if You want to sleep with open window, but if You close it it`s fine.
The hotel is very well located and the rooms are spotlessly clean. The bathrooms were modern. Finally the staff were very obliging and friendly, with no request too small.
The rooms and beds were quite small, which was unexpected given the price tag. There was no air conditioning, which in hot, muggy weather made for sleepless nights. Further, in the bathrooms, there were no complimentary shampoos etc - rather you were provided with a shower gel/ soap which was attached to the wall. Although the exterior of the hotel is full of character, none of this made it to the rooms, which were rather generic (and disappointing).
Location is perfect for a 3 days city trip. Staff is very friendly and helpful with turist information
